Kukri knives were firstly Utilitarian and then became weapons of war, growing out of necessity came the development of military Kukri knives. Kukri knives have for centuries been an traditional utility knife in the Himalayan mountains and hills.Over the course of history the Kukri has been used in the Himalays, from the hills of Burma to the Khyber pass and has a permanent home in the land of the Gurkhas, Nepal.Kukri knives as gifts and military knives went even further, some reaching Queen Victoria in the 1850s. Utility Kukris are used for a variety of tasks in daily life, from butchering to cutting wood for the household, they are found throughout Nepal and come in many shapes and designs depedning what they are intended for, where in the country they are from and the preferance of the user. In common they assist the human to survive, to make life easier and often a needed tool to fulfill the days tasks. For the modern user Heritage Knives Utility & Traditional Kukri´s are great for bushcraft, camping, hunting and the outdoor.
